9th century Thrissur Temple – A temple like no other with unique architecture

Thrissur, also known as Trichur, is a city in the southern Indian state of Kerala. It is known for its rich cultural heritage and is home to many ancient temples, including the famous Thrissur temple or Thrissur Vadakkumnathan Temple.

The temple is open to visitors throughout the year and is an important pilgrimage site for Hindus. Ideal to visit early in the morning. The temple complex is huge and an ideal place if you want to meditate early in the morning. Visitors can also explore the temple’s many shrines and sculptures, and learn about its rich history and cultural significance.

Things to note at the Thrissur temple complex

Few things to make a note of while entering the temple. Both males and females will have to follow the local dress code. Photography isn’t allowed in the inner or central portion of the temple. The entire city is around this temple and the temple complex is at the center of this town. The place is well connected by public transport. The temple did not have any paid special entry during my visit.
